BPCL Enhances Aviation Infrastructure at Manohar International Airport in Goa

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has inaugurated state-of-the-art hydrant facilities at the newly established Manohar International Airport in north Goa, marking a significant advancement in aviation infrastructure. The facilities were unveiled by Mr. Sukhmal Jain, Director (Marketing) BPCL, in the presence of Kanwarbir Singh Kalra, Deputy CEO of GMR Goa International Airport Ltd (GGIAL), and other senior leaders from BPCL and GGIAL.

The introduction of these advanced hydrant facilities aligns with BPCL’s strategic initiative to meet the escalating refueling demands of the new greenfield airport. Manohar International Airport serves as a vital addition to Goa’s aviation landscape, complementing the existing Naval airport in Dabolim. The operational commencement at Manohar International Airport has led to an overall increase in air traffic at both airports, enhancing connectivity and operational efficiency in the region.

Mr. Sukhmal Jain emphasized BPCL’s commitment to driving advancements that support the growth of the aviation sector, emphasizing efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction. The newly inaugurated hydrant fuel farm spans 6 acres and boasts a substantial storage capacity of 8,270 KL. Equipped with an intricate network of underground pipelines connecting to the airport’s 13 aircraft parking bays, the hydrant system operates through a fully automated console, ensuring seamless fuel distribution with a focus on efficiency and safety.

Furthermore, BPCL virtually unveiled Aviation Fuelling Stations at nine other airports, expanding its operational footprint to a total of 75 airports nationwide. This strategic expansion aligns with the upward trajectory of India’s domestic air passenger traffic, reflecting a notable resurgence in air travel with approximately 15.4 crore domestic air passengers recorded during the fiscal year 2023-24.
